Paul Dennison
Paul Dennison is a professional educator, pioneer in applied brain research and world authority on cognitive skills and reading achievement. He received his doctorate in education for his research on reading and cognitive development. His clinical research in the USA on the causes and treatment of learning difficulties resulted in the development of the Educational Kinesiology and Brain Gym® programs with his wife Gail Dennison. These programs are now used in more than 80 countries worldwide and translated into more than 40 languages. In 1999 the Dennisons' received the prestigious Reading Excellence through the Arts Award from the International Reading Association for their exemplary work on behalf of children, teachers, literacy and the arts.
Barbara Wards
Barbara's time as a secondary teacher engendered an interest in the children who struggle in the classroom. It was during SPELD tutor training in 1980 that she first became aware of the need for good “physical skills for learning” underlying classroom achievements. Barbara began her journey with Brain Gym in 1984, becoming an Edu-K Instructor, and Edu-K Faculty for New Zealand in 1992. She is a Touch for Health Instructor and integrates this with Edu-K work. She teaches Vision Circles and OBO, and has a passion for the vast scope of the Creative Vision work since first taking it in 1989. "It informs everything else that I do through its ability to identify a huge number of visual behaviours and metaphors, whether your students are adults or children. Creative Vision is a must. "
Patti Leahy Shrewsbury
Patricia Leahy-Shrewsbury is an International Faculty member of the Educational Kinesiology Foundation USA, an Advanced Touch for Health instructor and Proficiency Assessor. Patti teaches internationally and is author of the inspirational book, Human Crystals. In 1999 Patti received an award from the Edu-K Foundation for outstanding service & achievement. In 2001 the AKA awarded her for outstanding contribution to the growth and awareness of Kinesiology within the community.
Heather Gibbons, Brain Gym Instructor Australia
Heather has been studying stress management and accelerated learning techniques since 1991. She is passionate about using Educational Kinesiology in the primary classroom where she has had 30 years teaching experience.
Heather is an accredited instructor in Brain Gym 101, Vision Circles™ and Optimal Brain Organization™.
Glenys Leadbeater, NZRN, Dip Op Th. International Edu-K Faculty New Zealand
One of the founders of Edu-K in New Zealand, Glenys became a member of Faculty in 1992.
She has done extensive training with the founder of Educational Kinesiology, Dr Paul Dennison over the last 20 years and now teaches Double Doodle Play, Brain Gym 101®, Vision Circles, Brain Organisation Profiles, Edu-K In Depth, Teacher Practicum, and the advanced classes: Movement Re-Education, Total Core Repatterning, and Double Doodle Teacher Training.
Gillian Johnson
Gillian has always loved to dance and brings this passion, together with her experience and personal exploration of various movement programs into her teaching of the Movement Dynamics course. She's been a Brain Gym Instructor for over 20 years, having attended her first Edu-K In Depth course with Paul Dennison in San Diego in 1984. She also teaches Visioncircles and OBO and is a member of the Australian Edu-K Faculty. As well as teaching in Australia she has also taught internationally, in Singapore, South Africa and most recently in Japan.
Paula Wilson (M.Ed.), Gym Instructor, Australia
Paula's passion and mission is to bring a life-enriching and compassionate way for people to connect, communicate and move together, to communities worldwide. Paula began teaching communication skills in 1989 and this path eventually led her to discover an amazing and effective model for connecting and communicating with self and others: Non-Violent CommunicationTM (NVC). She has been an adult educator and learning consultant with business, government and university organizations, as well as with the public for 19 years. Paula teaches Brain Gym 101 and Optimal Brain OrganisationTM
Julie Gunstone International Edu-K Faculty Australia
Julie teaches internationally and has done extensive training in Educational Kinesiology over the last 20 years and now teaches Double Doodle Play, Brain Gym 101®, Visioncircles, Brain Organisation Profiles, Edu-K In Depth, Brain Gym Teacher Practicum, and Visioncircles Teacher Training.
